Today’s advanced automatic hearing instruments don’t allow for the fact that people perceive the loudness level of speech and noise differently. As a result, programs often become uncomfortable in noisy situations, or deliver far too little speech amplification in quieter ones. The problem is solved by creating different manual programs, which many people have trouble using correctly.
Automatic, individualised amplification in 7 environments
ReSound Be 9’s focus on the way sounds are perceived and prioritised has led to the development of Environmental Optimizer. This new system delivers individual amplification in seven different listening environments – all without changing programs or requiring manual user intervention.
Environmental Optimizer has three functions. With Environmental FineTune initial personal loudness preferences are determined in the fitting software. Environmental Classifier then monitors the real-life environments and applies the optimal personal settings for a given situation. Finally, Environmental Learner can be activated to monitor and further adjust to the user’s personal references in each environment.
